Default Fenderwell CAI

I am trying to figure out which CAI to get. I am considering the mac or bbk fenderwell or the K&N FIPK or mac short ram. I know that none is really better than the other, and that none are going to blow the doors off. The question I have is, how hard is it to change/clean the filter on the fenderwell CAI's? Can you pull it out from the hole in the fenderwell or do you have to get it from underneath? Thanks

Not that hard at all, you change it out the same way you put it on. It will take two people, but only about 2 minutes of time.

You can save some money and install a K & N filter and remove the silencer. You'll get the same performance but for less money and it will still be legal.

ALMOST the same gain, and you don't get the shiny pipe!

Ya I have done the high flow and the silencer mod and didnt hear the engine through the intake, infact I didnt even nottice a difference, call me crazy but I felt a difference with the true MAC fender CAI and I loved hearing the engine through the intake and I love how much more agressive the exhaust sounded.

That is my personal experiance, I woulnt ever not have a CAI.

I dont really suggest the short ram unless you can completly block of the engine bay from it, in which case its a good idea because its quick and easy to get to the filter, its also the streightest path to the TB which supposedly gives you more power but its not notticable between the two.

Getting under the car to change the fender mount filter really isnt that hard, it takes me a couple minutes, its just that you have to get under the car and work around the inner fender peice.

A lot of people will always be against the CAI but I feel that its one great beginner mod. If it didnt work then it would sell so well.

Basic principles of performance.
1.) Get more air in
2.) get more fuel in
3.) get more gasses out.

Really basic and the CAI is the first step to this process.

the fender well kits are pointless. a short ram is just as good, or better, while driving. and the mac kit comes with a heat sheild.

and you get more shiny chrome
