Default suspension

My wife has a 99 sixer with the roush kit and i have a 01 v8. Can I put my saleen springs and shocks on her car? Can the sixers use stock gt springs/shocks? Wondering because of the difference in the front due to engine weight and concerned about it scrapping everywhere. The roush front bumper and sideskirts are a lot bigger than the saleens front bumper and sideskirts. Can anyone help me her shocks/ springs are shot.

Yeah, the V6 and GT shocks/springs are the same. The only model that differs is the cobra because it has an IRS.

That being said, I don't know if Saleen makes custom spring rates specific to their models but I can't imaging they would do that. Seems like a big extra expense.

Saleen outsources their springs.

They will fit, but they will not lower the car as much as they did on the V8. Also, you won't get the same handling since the Saleen package is tuned to work with the shocks/struts/springs with the weight of the V8.Stock

GT springs will actually LIFT the V6 - don't tell me it won't - I tested this myself on my own car. V6 springs are different than V8 springs when it comes to the lb per inch compression.

I would highly suggest Roush V6 springs, something from Steeda or Maximum Motorsports. If you don't want to get into looking for specific spring rates, just get something that is V6 specific.

where can I get the v6 roush springs from? I didnt see them on stage3motorsports website. The saleen setup is made by racecraft/bilsten. She has almost 100K on her car and I have almost 20K on mine. I was thinking of putting mine on hers and buying new for mine. Can I just buy roush springs for hers and put v8 shocks and struts on it?I know where i can get used gt stock shocks/struts for cheap with low miles on them. Will they work? How is the ford "C" spring on the v6 with roush kit? I dont want hers too low "trying to keep the bumper on without scapes".

roush springs can be bought from roush's website. ive got em and love them. i took the front isolators out to drop it just a little more up front. yea v8 shocks and sturts will fit the v6. you wont need the rear quad shocks though cuz the 6 doesnt have them. the roush springs should work great with the roush kit since they are kinda made to fit eachother. it will look sweet.

random question, have you done anything else to her 6?

spintech side exhaust= sounds great for a six
silver bullit wheels
v8 8.8" rear end , blew the crappy 7.5" = night and day difference

I still need to put the quad shocks on hers yet. Yes there is a spot for them on hers with the change of the rear.

How much were those roush springs? Are you sure the v8 shocks and struts will work? Will it raise the car?

the springs were about 200 shipped. and i didnt know you had the 8.8, so yea the quads will work. the shocks shouldnt raise it up. they should work fine.
and sounds like a really nice car, id like to put a 8.8 in mine, i just need to find a really cheap one.

we got ours from the junkyard for about 700. All i can say is that it was well worth it. It makes a world of a difference pickup wise. I recommend it. We wanted to go with a ford racing 8.8" but they didnt make it for that year. They make them for the 98 and older models which is about an half inch shorter on each side.

Does stage3motorsports sell the v6 roush springs? We bought the roush kit and tips from them and they are a great company to deal with.
Do you have gears in yours? what mods do you have? Im thinking of putting some lt headers on hers soon.

Stage3 might not have them on their site, but call them up....I'm sure they will hook you up.
Spins out the side is the way to go on a V6. It's what I run as well.

As for shocks/sturts.....the Roush springs are designed to work with the factory issue parts, so there is no need to swap them.
