Default Need a quick answer!

If I could put a T-56 in now, it'd save me a ton of trouble when I swap the motor...that and the T-5 feels like it's on its last leg.

Somebody give me a reason that I can't put a T-56 in my car right now. Where would I get the bellhousing? Won't a bellhousing for a 302 work? The bolt patterns are supposed to be the same...

Ya but you need to figure out if the bolt pattern is the same on the trans as it is on the bell housing.

Do you have any other sources of somone doing this?

No, again I'm the trailblazer. They make bellhousings FOR 302s that fit T-56s. Shouldn't one of them work? Or, am I misunderstanding you?

I believe it does fit the V6
so there you go

Now you just need to worry about input shaft length

Also it needs to be a 10 spline.

So basicly your biggest problem is the input shaft length.

Care to elaborate? I'm a newb when it comes to trannies...and by that I mean transmissions, not transvestites...though my knowlege of them is just as lacking...thankfully.

EDIT: Wait, so why 10 spline? Why couldn't I do the 26spline conversion?

Im not all that strong on them either, just some basic knowledge.

If you change the clutch I would assume you could do it that way but you might have to have a custom flywheel made.

Its always easiest for me to figure new things if I am there and have my hands on them, Im great at that if I am there, but over the internet its hard LOL.

I'll do some searching.

Thanks, bro. Lemme know if you find anything out. I've also emailed Tremec to see what they say.

Btw we are talking about two different things, on the input shaft count the splines, there are 10

Ok so far I have found out that the input output shaft is actually smaller than the T5 and the T56 is a 10 spline on the input shaft.

You will probably need to contact Liberty Gear and have them make you a completly new input shaft with the 26 split output.
