Weight Saving!
I was looking at this site that sells driveshafts and came across a carbon fiber "critical link" driveshaft. The site is http://www.pstds.com/. I e-mailed them to see if they made that driveshaft for an '03 Auto V6. They said yes prices start at $585.00 and go to $925.00. I know that's a ton of money for all of us, but I think the $585.00 could be worth it. I e-mails them again asking how much weight compared to stock would I save with the carbon fiber driveshaft and they responded saying 12-14lbs!
I think the $950.00 is a little expensive for only a couple more pounds more. But think about the $585.00. 12lbs is a huge difference especially for a auto. For more information go to thier site.
Let me know if you guys think its out-of-the-question or if you think it's worth it!

things like that and lightweight flywheels are not so much for overall weight savings, but mitigate the amount of rotational mass the engine has to fight to get moving. Its easier to spin something that weighs less, so the less your drivetrain weighs, the more power will be put to the ground instead of working on spinning the tranmission and driveshaft, etc.
Actually anyway you look at it you're saving weight. Its just great that its a driveshaft and lowers the rotational mass, like we all already know. The aluminum driveshafts only save you 8lbs max, from what I've read.
I think if I were to pick one, it would be the carbon fiber. It's more expensive, but think about it this way.. If you ever decide to keep your mustangs and mod them up when you had the money to do so,would you rather buy two driveshafts or buy one and be done with it and save more weight to begin with?

I know carbon fiber body kits shatter/crack pretty easily... imagine if you had just dropped ~$600 on a drive shaft, you run over a rock and... I think you get the picture. But aside from that freak possibility, I'm not sure I'd trust carbon fiber to translate force accurately. I've never heard of any autocross/drag teams using carbon fiber driveshafts. To me it sounds too much like a plausible gimmick, than something worth taking a risk on.

why spend 900 on a drive shaft when you could get some real power adders a nitrous kit and a tune, a cam and a tune ,a upper and lower ported intake, or pay a lil more and get some stage 2 heads ,or even 4.10's Tloc tuner UPD just dont spend 900 on a drive shaft that u dont need
if u want ur car to loose weight get a seat delete empty ur trunk everything including tire and jack and ul lookse a lot of weight
