Default Mod question...

ok i just had a quick question about what you guys think. I'm getting exhaust, 4:10's, trutrac, auto shift-kit, very soon so I was just wondering if you guys think i should get a tuner.. i was just thinking of just going for a sct dyno tune after everythings installed. then i dont have to mess with a tuner at all which would save me some trouble...

,
ps. did anyone notice a difference after about 12,000 miles because now the car shifts into second alottttt firmer, it jumps, any firmer and it would chirping the tires.

You will have to get a tuner after the 4:10 gears to make your speedo correct.

Your mods do not justify a dyno tune. A hand held tuner will be more than enough, and cheaper. If you can't use a hand held tuner, you probably shouldn't be using an automobile.

1st do they even have a tuner/chip for a 04 3.9?

2ndit wouldn't really be that much more for a dyno, tuners run like $300...

3rdplus with the dyno i could see exactly how much HP im pushing which would be cool

But with a dyno it's one time and it's over. But with a tuner you can use it as much as you want.

The tuners can hold more than 1 tune on them

well the only couple things that you have that might increase your HP are intake and exhaust, the gears dont increase horsepower, they just get you up to speed quicker. it wont show any increase on the dyno if you even get it done, the tuner might get you a little bit, but with all honesty, i would wait until you get some long tubes, ported upper and lower, and a few other either bolt ons, like a pully or something. before you go all out and get the dyno tune. i would personally just get the handheld one for now, plus you can change it every time you put something else onto your car. so its definately a good investment. if you have big plans for the car, get the dyno tune now, and then if you plan on supercharging it and going all out, you can get it dyno tuned again when you are done, so you can see where you started and then what your final figures are after you put FI onto it.

ok i'll probably just go with a Sct tuner then...

another question:

if i plan to get an H-pipe installed with my exhaust then can i buy a GT exhaust?
im getting the Borla sois there a difference between the airflow or anything in the v6 vs. GT borla exhaust model, besides a different setup ok pipes where it connects to the rest of the exhaust system?
