Default Problem

I ordered SS bumper inserts and an MAC CAI from Autobadges a few weeks ago. Got the inserts and they look great, but regarding the CAI... The instructions are for a '94-'01 Mustang, and I have a '02. My MAF is not located in the same spot, and after 3 and a half hours of forcing **** into the places they were supposed to belong, I got nowhere. I need to know if I should be having this problem, and if I need to send it back, or if I'm just doing something horrible wrong. All I know is, there are holes in the pipes that do not have anything I can possibly put in it, and my air blowoff valve pipe or whatever doesn't fit over the silver peice on the TB blue peice.

I need assistance before tomorrow so I know whether or not I need to ship this back and get a new set or refund, and if I should just keep the stock intake on for now. Please assist.

My MAC intake on my 02 was a pita too. The metal adapter for the pcv breather is too large for the hose and a pita to get in the elbow. I don't see what issue you're having with the maf though? The hardest part of doing mine was working the filter into that plate from underneath the car, definately takes 2 people. BTW I got mine straight from MAC, and called to bitch about the fitment.

Damnit, not what I wanted to hear. We have the same problem. I don't have a big problem with the MAF, I know where it goes and such ... I am just saying it is located in a different spot than in the instructions. I couldn't seem to line the filter up right in the fenderwell, no matter how hard I tried. When I finally got it in there and hooked up to that J-pipe, and started hooking everything else up to the throttlebody nothing quite fit right. Wish I would have known about these problems before I bought the MAC, but everyone said they loved it. So far it's been a 3 1/2 hour PITA. I'll go at it tomorrow I suppose and try and force everything to fit.

Can I ask what you did with the pipe that has the circle in it? And what did you do with the blue pipe that had the metal thing sticking out?

Yea I believe that's the problem I am having. The way all of the pipes bend does not correspond with the way the engine is set up.

I'd say the J-pipe is a 90* if anything ...

Yea, he needed the part number and said he hasn't heard of anyone else with this problem ... Apparently there is at least one other person, lol.

I tried again today, with a different pair of hands. Yesterday one of my friends that had no car knowledge tried to take over. I took the whole stock one apart and started going by the instructions but he got impatient and wanted to get it done with and must have fudged it up. The hardest part was getting the damn filter to the heat shield. Once my friend got that up to me in the right spot I slid the shield over it, then started connecting everything as best I could. Seems to be pretty snug, but I still have a black hole in one of the pipes that idk what it is for.

Should my A/C be only blowing out hot air even after being on full blast for 15 minutes?
