Compression Ratio
I plan on rebuilding my engine in my shop call in a few months and wanted to know if i changed the compression ratio what will that do for me and what would be a good ratio to change it to? thanks
It will give you more power all through the rpm range but you if you go too much you will be stuck forever having to run high octain gas. If you are going to do it put in a bigger cam and port the heads to really wake it up.
I plan on getting the my intake and heads ported along with a new cam. I plan on getting another 3.8 engine and rebuilding it and building it up and then dropping it into my mustang.
Thats what i did, so much better than doing it on your current engine. Mill the heads .030 over to get rid of any alum. warpage and raise compression. But if you ever wanna go F/I think the opposite!!

That's a good point to think about because high compression is the last thing you want with FI. Nitrous would still be fine though so you can always go that route if you want more later.
If you go nitous tho its worth it to get the timing adjuster, i dont know what its called. Because then you get the max out of it. AND A TUNE
Anyone know what the ratio would be if you milled the heads .030??? JW

I don't plan on doing any kind of F/I i want someone owning a 99-04 GT to pop my hood and see what looks like a stock v6 and then i want to be able to smoke him. So does anyone know what a good compression ratio to change mine to and where i can get the parts to do it at? thanks
Well i know milling the heads would start(machine shop), then get different pistons(weisco?). If you want that then i suggest a 4.2l crank also. You can also Port and polish your heads/intake to help flow. You got a pic of your car?
here is a pic of my car, i posted it up in the forums about a month ago and hardly know one liked it, which is odd, cause just about everyone i talk to in person likes it, including other mustang drivers.
