Possibly time for a dyno tune?
OK, heres the deal...so far i have a TransGo valve-body/slightly rebuilt automatic trans, mustang GT cats that go into 2 1/4" pipes w/ dual Flowmaster Delta 40 mufflers, and a MAC straight shot CAI. The car was running betweem 16.2 and 16.3 in the quarter mile, got the trans done and.....now it runs 16.500. That is the fastest it has gone since the new valve body went in. It shifts HARD, on the old 16x7" rims it wouldn't just bark the tires going into second, but cause it to lose traction at times. Crazyness. So now it has 15x8.5" wheels and tires out back. Barks them but jumps forwards going into second, which is good. BUT, it also shifts into 3rd about 5mph sooner....which could be bad... is there any chance my ECU just needs be told that all of this sh*t strapped onto my car is GOOD for it? Also, why would my watered down V6 be making enough torque to spin an 8.5 inch wide tire through a 4R70W? Anybody else have this problem?
Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any help

The reason you're spinning out is because of the shift kit, remember, your auto isn't stock anymore, and is now a little more powerful than it was before, and the open rear end isn't helping any.
If I were you I'd get a tuner, and do some of the tuning myself, and set the tranny specs the way you want it. A dyno tune is only gonna bump up power, the tranny work "generally" has to be done over several hours by tuning, taking the car out for a spin, data logging if possible, then adjusting, and retry on the road until it's right.
But yea, I say it's time that something be done.

You haven't done anything to warrant a dyno tune. It will give you more power than a regular tune, but it won't do much on a basically stock car.

My car isnt basically stock though, it pretty much has a whole new transmission and exhaust setup on it. IDk, I'll have a check coming soon, we'll see what that brings

go 4.10s. anyone suggesting 3.73s has not driven a car with 4.10s.
and don't get a used part like gears.

Not true there Mr. Matthockey. Both Cobra 232, and Ryansquicksix have, and both have had experiance with both set ups, and both will say 3.73s for a manual, like I said, 4.10s are for stock autos, not a DD manual.
