Default Important Question(s)

1. As you all know, a few days ago my car gave me the "Service Engine" light. I ran a scan on it and it came back as "O2 Heater Sensor Malfunction (Sensor 1, Bank 1)" or something like that. My question is, can I run the car without it breaking down on a 250 mile (there and back) trip? Or will this problem cause me not to do that?

2. What exactly do I have to do to change this sensor? The socket I have is way too tall to fit in the little place I have to work with.

And I think I already told you in your other thread, check the harness. The sensor may not be bad at all and just needs to be plugged back in.

You can run it without the 02 sensor but your gas mileage will probably be chitty.

Go to an auto parts store and buy an 02 sensor socket. The sensor will cost you $50-60. DO NOT BUY THE SENSOR WITHOUT THE HARNESS. They are cheaper but they are also crap.

Okay, I got everything changed, disconnected and reconnected the battery, and I think I've got it fixed. Now for the A/C. It was a pain in the *** because I have pretty big hands, so fitting them in that little crevice I had to work with was a PITA. No big deal though, got it all changed for about $60 (Parts + Tools) as opposed to $150ish.

Now for my A/C questions ... My A/C works on full blast and every other setting, problem is it only blows out hot air. What would I need to do to fix this?

Yep, my dad has one of those for his truck. I tried to fit it on my car, but it didn't fit at all. No big deal, just got a new one. Oh, by the way. Don't touch the exhaust. [:@]

Went to Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, Pep Boys, Tony's Auto Parts, 2 Napa Autoparts, and even the Ford Dealership ... No place had the damn socket. Finally, last place we checked ... O'Reilly Autoparts had the part thank God. Looks like no one wanted to carry the one part I needed.

Okay, so about halfway to Hattiesburg the damn Service Engine light came back on. Just to be sure, Sensor 1, bank 1 is the sensor above the catalytic converter on the side of the block with the first cylinder, correct? Did I do the correct side or no? To be sure, what side is the first cylinder on? I re-scanned the car today and it's the same exact error code.

And my A/C still blows hot.
