Default More stock specs..

Does anyone know how much (or about how much) the stock hood, fenders and deck lid weighs?

I've been thinking about buying some paintablecarbon fiber parts to lighten the load. The only thing I haven't seen are carbon fiber fenders.

They're something to consider. That's why I'm asking how much they weigh.

The fenders don't weigh but a few pounds. Changing them out would just be like wasting money. The hood is understandable.

I could see changing the hood. My hood feels heavy as hell compared to other cars. The deck lid would probably benefit too. Theres a pretty good chunk of metal back there. Just make sure you get one with a spoiler.

i doubt it would really be worth it. any of it. the hood although has some metal supports is fiberglass. the finders are light as hell, the decklid is fiberglass. id invest in something that will get you a lot more than a few pounds off the weight of ur car.

There are other places to save weight before investing in CF body parts. First, ditch the A/C, crusie control, all the sound deadening material behind the interior trim panels, stereo and heavy stock seats. Then look at an aluminum driveshaft.
CF hoods weigh roughly 10 lbs. The fenders will run about 4-5 lbs each (depending on what company you go with). Around 50% weight shed vs the stock parts. But not enough to really notice unless you are deep into the racing scene. Look to spend over $1200 or $1300 for good fenders and another $1000 or so on the hood when getting CF parts. Don't but cheap parts, quality is crap on them.
