A turbo is powered by the exhaust while a super charger is powered by the crank shaft through a belt.

turbo has lag but is more efficient because it doent rob and power from motor

supercharger has no lag but takes some power away from the motor because it is driven off the crank

and a intercooler is needed for a turbo but not a neccisary but usualy added with a supercharger and it cools the air that is going into the motor and is mounted between the super/turb charger and the TB

A turbo-charger uses exhaust gas to spin a turbine which will compress air entering the intake. Turbos produce their best power at mid-to-upper RPM's where there's more exhaust pressure. The down side is that it takes a bit to produce enough pressure to spin up the turbo which results in turbo-lag. Turbos are best for applications where the engine is working at a constant, or upper-end RPM. (Rally-cross, or road racing)

Superchargers on the other hand are directly driven by the engine using a belt running from the crankshaft. The best power is produced from lower to mid-RPM's and is available the moment you put your foot into the gas. Downside to the supercharger is that they become less effective around the mid-RPM range. Superchargers are best for applications like drag-racing or for use on lower revving engines like the larger diesels.

Turbos are more widely available and (typically) cheaper than superchargers, as well as easier to adapt to most engine applications. Turbos are usually more efficient as well, they make a smaller (lighter) engine more powerful and don't cause much of a drag when not in use.

Not quite for the V6 mustang. There is really only one place that makes kits for sixers, and that is TMA Turbo. You can find superchargers cheaper then their prices. But, if you're going to fab up a Turbo, I believe that that will end up cheaper than supercharging.
