Default Weird Problem, help?

On my way to get a spark plug for my quad my car started acting up. It seemed to me like the car was in neutral when I gave it gas, but I looked down and saw it was in drive, plus I realized that the car wasn't even revving. My first guess was that I was stuck in between drive and neutral, so I popped it into neutral then back into drive, but I still had the same problem. If you can imagine riding a quad that is out of gas, it goes and then stops and goes again. That's what was going on except I had a full tank of gas. I got to the Honda dealership (motorcycles only) and parked the car, I was kinda worried. Got my spark plug, and went the back way out, and saw a hot red-orange Cobra in the employee lot, which is besides the point...anyways, I didn't notice any problem on the way back home, but I'd just like to hear what you guys have to say on this. I hope its not the transmission, unless they can replace it with a manual, then I'm cool with that cause I have an extended warranty. What do you think the problem is?

Yeah, I was looking at it and when I got into the parking lot I gave it gas to see if it was revving and nothing happened.

I've been getting really ****ty gas mileage, so would that having anything to do with a dirty fuel filter?
