Default 8.8" rear

Will a 8.8" rear end bolt right up to a 99-04 V6? If not what modifications will be needed? I want to put 3.55's in my car, I hate my 3.73's on the highway. 2700 rmps at 80 mph, thats working my motor way to hard!!

And can I use the same drive-shaft or will I need a longer/shorter one?

Everything is the same. Nothing to modify other than programming.

yea, you can adjust for differnt gear sizes and different tire sizes. but if you get a 99-04 gt rear you shouldnt have to adjust anything. im pretty damn sure tehy ahve 3.23 gears also. if you get a mach rear they will have 3.55 i think. so then you would have to adjust it.

Quick fix for high rpm's is to slow down. I run about 2000 rpms at 65 with 3.55's but my fifth gear ratio is .67 or.68 as opssosed to your ratio or .73 or .75. Going from 3.73 to3.55 will lower your rpm's about 200 Iam guessing. You should be able to find a 3.45 ratiofor your 7.5 rearend from Richmond Gears.

I have a complete 3.55 rear end in my garage. I want 3.73's.
