Default Exhaust... Long Tubes

Well... One thing is leading to another and now I'm thinking... Are all 4 Cats on the Midpipe? I'm kinda considering some long tube headers now... I found 'em at Stage 3 Motorsports for $250... Now for the headers what's the difference between ceramic coated and HTS? And I have a 2000, will mine have Air injection or not? Is it overall worth the money now that I'm going to be under the car and doing the whole system? One simple mod I budgeted $300... [sm=sigh.gif]

i did my longtubes with a good friend of mine, took 3 hours with a couple of video game breaks LOL, i got a midpipe from a 2003 mach 1 that had LTs on his car. Bolted up perfect no problems. i had to buy four 02 extensions that were sold in pairs.

gains are around 5-7RWHP.

HTS stands for high temperature coating...ceremics are more durable againt rust and are the better quality but i would just spray the headers with header paint from a local auto store. i forgot to do mine

So from what I understand, all the catalytic converters are on the midpipe, correct?

And another thing... The website says "These MAC long tube headers feature 1 5/8" design." I'm going with 2.5" piping on my exhaust... if the headers are 1 5/8" how does that work? Sorry if this is a dumb question! Wouldn't that be a bottleneck and wouldn't it make it pointless to have anything bigger afterwards or is that just each individual pipe and then after the collector it goes bigger? Can someone explain this please? Thanks!

These are the ones I'm looking at getting.

2x Tips
2x MILs
Budgeted Total: $300

Actual Purchases:

1x Mac Ceramic Coated Long tube Headers

Yeah... I just keep telling myself, it's only a little bit more and I might as well do it now since it'll be apart and ready! So much for budgeting... Dang money hole car! [&:]

Yeah, if you look at my actual purchase list I'm just getting an SCT Tuner and having those CEL's turned off. I just keep telling myself it'll all be worth it in the end...

Vibrations? Are they bad enough that you'd suggest not getting them? Why does it vibrate?
