Default Nitrous questions...

Has anybody put nitrous on their car?If so what brand, what type (wet/dry), and what size shot?Did you put it in yourself or did a shop do it for you?How happy are you with your new found performance and does anyone have any before and after numbers at the track to show your improvement?

There are a few guys on here with nitrous... PM Flash20. He has his installed I believe.
Usually people run wet shots, after all...how do you like your women?

Generally for smaller shots like 125 or a 100 shot and under you use a dry shot and anything higher go with the wet. Also make sure your car is tuner properly to handle the nitrous.

Is intake puddling and explosion with wet kits just a myth or can it really happen?
I was considering runing a wet shot

sure, it could happen, if not hooked up properly.

a shop local here called EB3 motorsports had the founder of the nova mustang club's car in there. he stopped by to check out the progress and they were trying to start it. it wasn't starting so they'd give it gas here and there, well ******** had the bottle open and didn't wire the window/wot switches right so the nitrous was puddling up. the car finally started and it blew the top of the intake off! they said their ears were ringing for a few days.

It is a real world issue. Our intakes are designed very flat (like the old 5.0L intakes), which allows puddling to occur much quicker than say a 4.6L. If you have a good tune, I wouldn't worry. I ran small dry shots to cool the blower temp. I ran large wet shots on my motor as the main power adder for awhile.

There has been at least one V6 to hook up a direct port injection set up which located the nitrous/fuel jets in the lower intake plenum to avoid puddling in the upper.

It can happen, that's one reason I went with a dry shot.
