Default 1986 mercury capri.. need your help!!!!

ok so when i was driving to work my 1986 mercury capri with only 35,000 miles broke down on the way.. the car jsut all of a sudden died.. out of no where.. it had gas, battery was good. I towed it to my shop and started to go crazy with it.. i Replaced the alternator bcuz i found out that it wasnt pumping anything to my battery..Then it still wouldnt run.. it does crank but no run.. so then i replaced the voltage regulator. i replaced the fuel filter. its deff getting the gas it needs. so then i gave it an oil change and oil filter change bcuz of 3000 miles.. ok soo i replaced all that and still no go.. but every once in a while it will start up for about 15 to 30 seconds and run and drive.. then it will jsut die right out.. fuel pressure is good.. the car will kindof start if i hold the key all the way up.. does anyone have suggestions????

On an 86...it could be the distributor mounted TFT aka Ignition Module. Mid 80's through early 90 fords are notorious for that burning out and causing the car torandomly shut down when they get any heat.

An '86 capri basically is a mustang with mercury clothing. Its not that little crappy 4 cyl turbo. Its literally IDENTICAL mechanically to an '86 mustang GT.

yeah i didnt look at the fuses yet, but some guy told me it may be the ignition module that goes ontop of the distributor.. he says it happend to alot of msutangs and capris.. and that guy above me is an idiot.. you moron capris and mustang are basically the same exact thing.. so what if it doesnt say "msutang" i like capris better bcuz no one knows anything about em.. its like there sleepers.. u pull agasint someone and there like wtf is that.. then u dust em away.. i love mustangs but i happen to love capris better. well its my opinion.. yeah thanks for anyones help one trying to help me and not say this is mustang forum and crap.. well sorry they dont have capri forums..
