Default Elevation querry

I live at about 5500 ft above sea-level meaning I don't get the 14.7 lb of atmosphic pressure rather I get 11.89 lb give or take 0.10lb or so.

I was reading in another post that in preperation of blower install that going with lower compression pistons is advised. Seeing as I am at about 3 lbs of pressure lower than ideal, could I get away with sticking with 9:1 stock compression?

Just for more info, whenI travel the lowest elevation I get to is about 3200 ft; the highest is about 7550 ft.

personally I'd still go with lower comp. you could probably push a little higher boost at your altitude, or you could keep it running normal boost, and not have to worry about it if you head to a lower elevation. Its best to do it right, because what if you move not long after you finish it? You'll wish you had gone lower comp.

thats just my opinon. you could probably get away with it, but I'd go ahead and do it right.

I'd do it right too. Detonation can kill an engine fast (burnt pistons, valves, etc).
