Check your battery cables. If you have corrosion and deterioration, then your starter isn't getting all the juice it needs.

How did you check the starter and battery?

well, i checked the battery terminals and they had some corosion on them, i wire brushed all of it off and cleaned the surfaces and tried again and nothing. just the same click. i know the battery is working because i took the starter off and cranked it and that worked. so i know its neither of them. although i think it has something to do with the battery because i turned on the lights, cranked it and they dimmed quite a bit....but how would it be the fuel pump???? wouldnt it atleast turn over....?

could be the fuel pump. most stangs (at least new edges) have an emergency pump
shut off button in the trunk maybe you pressed it by accident?

that noise actually came from my dads astro van when its
pump facked up

There is a little compartment in the front(Closest to you if you're standing behind the car) left part of the trunk. You unscrew the screw on it and pull off the lining. Then press the red "easy" button.
