k&n cold air intake
I have an 02 mustang V6 with dual exhausts, should i add a k&n cold air intake? would it sound or run any better? the duals have a good sound...im just wondering whether or not its a good idea to add the intake? thanks.
Cold Air Intakes are generally worth it, just rember they are a bolt-on. Huge gains should not be expected, all depends on the condticion of the factory intake , the design of the new intake, and the engine's need for air. K&N intakes on a 3.8 are worth close to 7 HP , which seems very realistic.

The cai shold compliment the duals well, and the unresticted intake noise will make you grin for a few days.

i have an 02 with dauls and a K&N cai....the exhaust sound wont change....the only sound you will hear is the intake sucking air but imo it sounds good....you wont feel any more power but you will feel better throutle responses and some even say you will gain gas milage...but be careful many people have had problems with the intake such as me.....in the instructions for the cai kit it says nothing about reusing the mass air flow screen but chances are you will need to

The K&N link provides a dyno for a 3.8 with a FIPK. You could remove the silencer and add a drop-in K&N and pick up a few HP, but more power can be found with the whole system. They are not stock becasue of NHV Federal standards and the maintience associted with a reusble filter like the K&N. Keep in mind a sixxer's air demand if not as great as a larger displacement V8, so gains will be modest, as expected.
My bad: Heres the correct link-
http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=57-2532
Dyno Results on the FIPK

And remember airflow mods work together for a bigger net gain thean the individual compontens added together. With duals in place, better gains can be expected than on a stock car by a few HP.
