Default Stupid Question?

Ok I just installed my new cold air intake today and it all went smooth. I don't want to make this sound like a stupid question but, is there supposed to be a loud sucking air noise coming out by the filter when you step on it? I know they improve horsepower and gas mileage but do they improve acceleration. Because Ididn't notice much of a difference on acceleration but that was because I only drove around the block.

The direction for my CAI said to disconnect the battry cable for 15-30 mins. in order to reset the computer. The ECU then is supposed to adjust its fuel curve slightly to compensate for the increased airflow. It may take some miles for the ECU to dail in, so it may seem strange but there is a possiblity you may "feel it" better after a few miles. The noise is cool, the sound of air moving in a hurry. You probably wouldn't even notice after a few weeks.

the OBDII computer system has a memory.....if u disconnect the battery it deletes the memory and begins to relearn all of the parameters so its always a good idea if u are addin or subtracting from ur car in terms of mods
