does anyone know of a company that makes a shift plate that would replace my shift boot even though the shift isnt all that long i thikin id like the look or am i going to have to make one of my own

are you talking about the leather shift boot attached to the plastic in the car or the metal plate that bolts to the tranny?

he wants a shift plate with grooves in it to go from gear to gear....never have seen one...u might as well just make ur own

i would think you would need to make a piece that is oval to take up the whole space where the boot would be. would be interesting, but the ugliness of the Mustang shifter would detract from the work put in to custom making the piece. if it were a straight handle it would look better, not that crooked kinked Cobra looking thing...

Seems like it would be good for looks, but would that interfere with the shifting any? When I think about it the shifter is on a set path into the gears but in between gears there is some freedom and in quick shifting I would think it'd get in the way. [&:] Am I wrong and is it guided the whole way and it just feels like this?

yea i was thiniking about that and have decided to just change the shifter and diss the plate problem but i think it woul dlook good but not for me i like going fast rather than looking good
