Default Problem with '03's CD Player.

Hey everyone. I've got a rather major problem with my 6 Disc CD changer that came with the car. It's not an external brand, it is a Ford product i think. Anyway, it worked great for a while. Now, even though i have 3 Discs in it at the moment, it doesn't read that the 3rd disc even exists. Even worse, I can't listen to any of my other cd's in there, when i try to change cd's it makes a grinding noise, and then i get a message that reads: "CD ERROR." Worse still, i can't eject anything.

Can someone help me out? It's an '03, and i'm pretty sure the CD player is called Mach 6 or something...The radio works just fine, i just can't get the cd player to work.

sounds pretty bad...it wouldn't be worth it to fix it i think......junk it and get a aftermarket....or you can buy a replacement 1 from a salvege yard......

post this over in the audio/video section you will get a much more helpful response there than "junk it"

that's something commun to every single (In-Dash CD Changer with 6CD)
just get an aftermarket player, because these changers are weak

i got the answer to this one! i have the same problem. get the cd door to open and look in side and u will see the stuck cd. get a blank cd or one that u don't care about getting scratched. now slide the blank cd on top of the stuck cd and push the stuck cd down and it should come right out it works for me everytime but sometimes i gotta mess with it more than others

I had the EXACT problem with mine. A CD got stuck when trying to eject. Slide another CD under the lip of the CDthat's stuck and hit the eject button then. Sometimes when you try to eject a CD, it won't lift up enough to eject and it gets stuck. Oh, be sure to pull the CD you're using to lift the stuck one out as soon as you feel the stuck one starting to come out.

well yes the A/V section is more appropriate, but we would tell you to junk it as well. ford's cd-changers are CRAP. my mom's Focus is on its 3rd....

take off your sway bar, un plug a couple vaccum lines and the problem should go away
