I saw a vid on how Jiffy Lube doesn't actually change the oil or the oil filters. I'd do my own oil and all that but my neighbor owns a shop and he does it for free.

I do all my own work except for:
- Things covered under a warranty
- Clutches
- tranny tear down (fluids I'll do)
- Fuel system diagnosis
- anything with gears that require pitch/backlash settings (i.e. differential gears)
- A/C work
- Carbs for older cars.
- Oil changes - the mess and hassle of disposing of used oil is more convenient to have someone else do it.
- tire balance/tire replacement/patching

well between me and my dad we do just about everything i dont have a problem with jacks and jackstands we have plenty and a decent working space in the garage. I have had oil done and i have done it myself and its like when you do it yourself you just have a pride thing to it. The only thing i didnt do on my car was put on the cat back and i wish i would have done that it was just a busy time for me and i wanted it done.
