2000 With a slight problem
I have a 2000 convertible with 110k on it... whenever I go full throttle with my Mustang, the battery light illuminates for a bit until the car switches into its next gear... it's an automatic... can anyone help me with my problem? Thanks a lot.

It's a bad alternator...or one that's going bad. My 00 V6 manual tranny did that too. I've got 116K on mine. It started around 90 K (replaced it at 100K). Took the alternator to Autozone and had them bench test it. It failedthree out of five tests. I had them run it 5 times because the first time passed. Second time failed, third passed, 4th and 5th failed.
Replaced the alternator, no more flickering battery light at high RPM or WOT and no more dimming lights when the A/C kicks on.

Hey thanks man, I'll go get mine tested as well. I'm not sure about the dim lights with the A/C on because at night I usually roll with the top down, but when I try givin some extra gas with the A/C on, the engine response is bad and the A/C gets warm. Can this be caused by this also?
If you're flooring it with the A/C on, no, it's not related to the alternator. Our A/C compressors have a high RPM/WOT cuttoff switch that keeps the compressor from getting damaged. So, whenever you're above 4-4.5K steady or you floor it, it disengages the A/C clutch which turns off the compressor. Thus you get warm air for a few seconds until you either let of the gas or you drop the RPM by either upshifting or slowing down.
Hey thanks a lot man, yeah i noticed when I stop giving it gas it turns cold again. I'm bringing it to my guy tomorrow, and I think it's under warranty from the guy I bought it from, so I should be good.
