i have the chance to get a 4.6 engine for my v6 mustang. the shop is telling me it should bolt right up but there are a few things like the clutch, fly wheel and pressure plate that need to be change. the engine is a 4.6 dohc 4 v. will it work with my v6 mustang?

It could be boled on on your stock motor mounts but I think u might need a diff computer,please correct me if im wrong

oh i forgot to mention that lol. i do get the ecu for the engine. im just hoping the swap would go smooth. dont get me wrong i like my v6 engine but the cobra motor sounds nice. iam just a little scared to mod my v6 when it has around 83000 miles on it now. i already has some bolts on for the v6.

U bet your *** it sounds nice.Im keepin my six after new yrs and getin a cobra or something with some torque.

I'm not 100% sure, more like 99%,but won't you also need the wiring harness? Now they can be a Bit** to install !

I'd hate to see the labor charge to do it. Might be better to go some other route.

The GT and Cobra both use a 4.6 ever since '96. The Cobra motor is just DOHC and 4v per cylinder, while the GT is SOHC and 2v per cylinder. And only the 03/04 Cobra has the M112.
