Default Same setup. Totally different sounds

Alright heres somthing thats been bugging me.
My exhaust setup is an o/r xpipe with flow 40s.
My friends setup is exactly the same. o/r xpipe with flow 40s

Both exhaust systems are fully broken in. My car had bolt ons. His is basically stock.
His car has a loud obnoxious idle. Mine has a mild deep idle.

Its just his car sounds the total opposite of mine. WOT his becomes extremely loud and VERY raspy. But when i hit it full throttle its just as loud but much, much deeper. Basically i wana know why his sounds bad compared to mine? Same car except his is an 01 and mines a 00.

That wouldn't effect it.

It could be anything, really. Your engine could just be cleaner. His could be gunked up in the heads and not running as good as your's. You could be getting better air flow through your's. His manifolds could be in ****ty condition. A number of things, really. Just be happy your's sounds better, lol.

But how would it make it sound very raspy like it does?

get rid of the mufflers and just run straight pipes from the manifold out the back. That will be plenty loud and raspy, I promise you.

Proabably wasn't welded on 100% right and has a small exhaust leak, that will generally cause the symtoms you're talking about if it's in the exhaust line.
