wtf is wrong
My 2002 5 speed. WhenI am shifting gears the rpm stays stuck at the point wereI shifted. When the car is moving I put it inneutral, andtheengine stays reved up until the car comes to a complete stop then the rpms just drop down to idle. When im at a complete stopI rev it up high and the rpms drop down just fine.(Thisproblem only happens when the car is moving)I have changed the IAC and the TPS nothing has changed, can anyone help. THANK YOU
when my car is cold it does that. the rpms will stay up and not really drop until i shift and then they basically have to drop and if i put it in nuetral the rpms will just stay at like 2K until i come to a complete stop and then they will drop. i figured out that if thats happening i just need to stop put my car in neutral and let my car fully warm (until the rpms are like 700) and then i can drive and everything will be normal. it just happens if im driving and my car is cold.
the motor stays reved up until i come till a complete stop. so if im taking off in first gear i wait till my rpms are at about 3,000 i step in on the clutch and the rpms stay at 3,000 until i make a complete stop even if the car is in neutral.

Same exact thing. After it warms up it doesnt do that when your stopping. I did the IAC mod trick and its 10 times better now. Also sounds better.
When shifting the RPMs are supposed to hang until you fully let off the clutch and are in the next gear, also, when you put the car in neutral, of course the RPMs are going to stay high, they have to rev down first, they're jst not gonna drop to nothing because you threw the clutch out. I really think you guys have a bad misunderstanding of how manuals, and more importantly, the clutch works.
when im shifting to another gear the rpms stay at 3, 000 they will stay there forever as long as the car is moving clutch out or in,in neutral or any gear a/c off or on it doesnt make a difference. it has not turned on the check engine light. i have to make a complete stop for the rpms to drop back down to idle. in the morning it does not do it as bad but once the car is warmed it is real badits kind of embarrasing rolling up to a red light cause some rice burning importthinks i wanna race
