i was wondering if it would be worth it for me to buy a short throw shifter. i dont plan on racing or going to the track anytime soon so is there any other purpose for it?

Not really, the main purpose for the shifter is so you spend less time shifting while racing. The only benefit you would have is a smoother shift from 2nd to 3rd. Steeda guaruntees you'll never miss 3rd again or some crap like that.

Shorter shifters don't improve your shifting at all. They are only supposed to take a couple fractions of a second of the time you shift. Its really just for looks, I drove a civic with one in it and I much rather have a longer shifter racing or not.

i porb wouldn't get a short throw if i was you. it is good for looks and if you plan in the future to race, it may be a good idea, it you race off the line at redlights it may give you a faster acceleration.

I have a short throw in my Mazda and I really like it. The looks are good and it I can feel it engage better, plus replacing the bushing helped a lot too.

if you decide ya want the feel of a short throw, I have a shift handle for around $40 smackaroos that replaces your stock one that you can adjust to an infinite # of positions...... but honestly if you are not racing, and you do not care how it looks, then use the $$ to take your girl out for dinner.... it'll get ya more hehe
