i was just wondering what would be the best first mod i can do to my 2000 v6, i know bolt ons really dont give you out of control hp but i was just wanting to see if anyone had any advice for me...i know a flash tuner is pretty much a garaunteed 20 hp but is there anything better out there that would net me more or what.

 

a tuner will give 8-12hp
exhaust maybe 15 with LT headers
ud pullies free up about 8 hp
K&N filter in the stock airbox with silencer removed 3-4hp (same as a $150 CAI)

Nirtous= better than anything

3.73's or 4.10's gears and detroit truetrac will give a nice difference in off the line punch. shift kit for an auto

 

Cobra 232, What kind of exhaust system would pick-out? (ex. 2.25' for stock or 2.5 for modded)

 

it all depends on how much $$$ u wanna spend... usually, ppl start off with a CAI and an exhaust at the same time, which is about $500-$600. LT heads are awesome.. but run about $800, and thats with a new mid pipe, flow tube and installation. New rear end gears are a great mod, but i dont have them only because i cant decide which one to get, 3.73 or 4.10... its all on you, and how YOU want to spend your money.. just remember not to spend it on cheap knock-off shT..

personally I would start with the flash tuner. If you plan to do anything major to your car your gonna need it. Gears, remove rear cats, change injectors, change MAF.... a tuner is going to be needed for many mods and it really wakes a stock 3.8L up.
