Default Help !!

Hello,

My Name is David, i'm 34 and i'm new to this forum.
I live in Belgium, Europe, i love US cars, i already have a 72 Skylark coupe undergoing a pro-touring restoration, and also a 68 Pontiac Catalina StationWagon, lowered on 17" wheels.

But most of all, i would like to buy a Mustang asa daily driver:a new edge (1999-2004, right?) and due to the enormous taxes overhere,i have no choice but a V6...
My problem is:
I have found in germany a red Stang 09/99 (new model) with a 3.8, automatic, and the powernoticed on the german papers is 150hp (110kw)
I have seen another stang, 03/2000 also with a 3.8, manual, but always in US tittle (was the property of a US soldier in Germany), so i don't know the power and i need it to determinate the price of my annual taxes ex: 110kw (150hp) --) 600 euros (780$) and 145kw (198hp) --) 1100euros (1400$).
You see, it is very important to me to find a 110kw (150cv) car, otherwise it's damn too expensive...
My questions:
-When did the 3.8 engine changed horsepower? in 1998 due to the new model (1999-2004) or in 1999 .
-Is it possible to have a 3.8l 150hp in a "new edge" model??
-How can i recognise a 150hp from a 198hp?

Thanks a lot if you can help me to realize one of my great wish, drive everyday a nice Mustang

David

How do they charge? as in what hp/kw number do they use? Power to the wheels(whp) or flywheel hp? Buy a v6 and swap in a v8, unless they do a hp dyno every year lol

Lol Ryan, could be the big deal, but each year we have a technical inspection and they open the motor cap, so i think they could notice the engine has too(2)much cylinders ;-)

So, if the red german 99 has a 110kw registration, it should be due to an error of the administration....
Now i have to find a way to register the black 2000 with less costs as possible!!!

Thanks for the info Sabin

How do they determine how much horsepower you have? If they dyno it you could always try blocking the intake or taking out some spark plugs or something to kill your hp for the test haha.
