Default No Muffler?

Well I was just wondering how would it sound if I took out my muffler and just put a piece of piping in its place and run the stock piping without the muffler how it would sound? I heard an 06 V6 with no muffler and it sounded pretty good?[/align]

on my 98 v6 i took the piece right after the y pipe off. so i ran headers to the y pipe and that was it. i liked the sound, it accually sounded good. then i cut the y pipe off. sounded like the worst thing i have ever heard. i felt like my car was going to break and it was just too stupid sounding. so now i have mufflers where the y pipe was and its all good

I am running no muffler right now and I think it sounds alright, its loud as hell though. I unbolted the muffler where it bolts to the y-pipe and I thought it sounded good so I left it like that. get under your car with a 14mmand unbolt it aftter the y-pipe if you like it pull the muffler and piping out if you don't bolt it back up and save for a set of duals. Its basically a free mod, you'll pick up a little bit of power but you'll lose a little bit of torque. After I removed my muffler I didn't get any faster at the track it just about stayed the same because the torque loss and the weight loss balance out but from a roll up in the rpm's it picks up a lot faster and revs faster.

it will sound like absolute **** in the upper rpms. i had mine like that for a short drive to a shop, also had it open headers, and open right after the y (ive done a lot of differnt exhaust crap). and it all sounded like absolute sh*t. dont do it.
