ok i was given a 1984 ford thunderbird (3.8L tbi) i was needing to know if it will hook up to my T5 trans and what would be need to change it over to a carb.

 

As far as I know the trany should bolt tight up. To convert to a carb you need a special intake like the one below and a fuel pressure regulator to keep the pressure down to 7 psi. You can run the stock fuel pump if you keep the return line connected.

Is there anyway for me to keep the tbi with out redoing a complete rewire of the car? way cant i just keep the manifold that is on it and just bolt on a carb.?

Oops, I forgot you have a TBI. I don't see why you couldn't install a carb then.

 

what carb would work with that and what would i need in the fuel line

Has no one done this before?? putting a carb. 3.8L v6 in a 88 mustang. would i have to get a new clutch and flywheel or change i take 1 from a 2.3L?

 

so itake it that no one has does this before or that it is not able to be done at all
