about exhuast pipe bends
Well, H pipe because the muff shop will fab it up cheap. An X pipe cost too much for your purpose. As far as straight pipes out the back, that's up to you. Dumps right after the Muffs sound great on the inside as well as out because the sound bounces off the ground and rumbles under the car. Too loud for me so I went back and took it out the back. Well, all my pipes were mandrel bent except over the axle. My muf guy keeps pre fab over axle pipes for some car makes because they are too great of a curve. I know some shops will mandrel bend two parts and weld them together for the over axle, but I honestly have never found any proof that mandrel bend on the rear pipes make any differance. But I'd still rather it be all mandrel bent. [sm=smiley24.gif]
Note my rear pipes.

thankyou guys. you guys helped alot. i have been told that the bends in the pipes are not good at all. they slow down the flow. but i think i wanna just go straight back and try not to have any bends at all.. i know its gotta go ova the axle but that is something that needs some serious attention.. but anyway i gtg i am shot.. i just got home from work .. if anyone is from New york i live on long island and i do audio installs for a living.. i do anything from radios to speakers to subs and amps to in dash tv's .. so if anyone needs anything just send me a message on my Screen name ChrisE2248

I have been on this forum for a while, but never really post... This may be too late, but for future purposes if you ever need mandrel bends or stuff like that, check out Mazzuri Super they have great deals on stainless mandrel bends. Their site is http://www.mazzurisuper.com great guys to work with!
just get a GT takeoff. it is plenty for a V6. you don't really need mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust untill you add a blower or turbo.
X or H or prochamber will not add 1 stinkin HP or torque to a V6 compared to a divorced (no crossover) dual exhaust
GT takeoffs with Force proseries mufflers Part# FRC-5201 will give a few hp over the stock single setup and sound great while only costing $200 depending on how cheap you can get GT,MACHI,Bullet,Pre 99 cobra takeoffs. they are stainless pipes too. they like to split when expanded cold but if heated hot they expand nicely which is required to do when you cut the GT mufflers off from the tails
get Force mufflers here

x-pipe is the way to go. period. Drue dual does not allow the tubes to equalize. The weld joints do slow down flow, to some degree, and this is also where pipes usually fail first, so keep that in mind.. As for which is cheaper, I am not sure, depends on what they charge locally.
If you do convert, you will need a MIL eliminator unless they can make the connections to run wires for your engine light. Usually, by the time you pay someone to make pipes for you, and buy the High flow cats (a must have if ya wanna be faster) it is often cheaper to buy em pre-bent.
You can get both the prebent x-pipe (with or without cats) and the MIL eliminators at:

1. balance crossover tubes do absolutely nothing for an even fire 90degree V6 like the ford 3.8 or GM 3800
2. he does not need MIL eliminators which don't work more than they do. as lon as he either keeps his stock cats or uses a catted aftermarket X or H or has his own made up with or without balabce tube with high flows welded in he will not need MIL eliminators. he will have to make sure all sensors have a o2 sensor bungs welded into the new pipes if they are not already there and just use his stock O2 sensors.
3. the link you provided is an X-pipe for the 4.6L V8 not the 3.8L V6 which are completely different and won't interchange
NEWBS PLEASE DO NOT POST INFO IF YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH THE SUBJECT OR KNOWLEDGE OF THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE 3.8 ENGINE
