Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 98 mustang v6 with 200k miles on it (damn!!!). The problem is that when I was buying it, the car already had many details that needed to be accounted for, so but I never noticed that the car would give me problems a week later. The problem is that in cool temps, she runs fine, but then we hit very high temps, usually above 105 degrees F, the engine starts to fail and stall a whole lot, and it loosed total trottle response. after about 2 minutes of stalling, she finally gives up and shuts down. I then cannot start her up at all. if I leave her to cool down for about 2 hours or so, so when the temp goes down, she will start as of nothing had happend! What the heck is going on. Could it be the injectors, or the fuel filter, the fuel pump itself that overheats or something?????

your mass air flow sensor may be ****ed up
have that checked

 

Clean your MAF... Do you have the AC on?

 

Have you checked to see if you have spark or fuel when it's doing it?

 

id say to try and check your fuel pump. It may hydro lock and after getting hot stop working all together. I havea cougar with the same single port setup as the mustang and the fuel pump did that a while back. Exact same thing you describe.
