Here are some specs on the 2004 Cheby Cavalier, personally I think you have no porblem, I have raced one for shytes and giggles and it was a joke, but I have a 5.0 with small amount of mods. Anyway, i think you have no worries. One question, is he stock?

oo i have the 5spd i dunno if thats what u had he has no mods to it when i test drove it it had some power but then again i have been driving the 2.4l dodge stratus around b4 i got this car
yeah, i had a 5 speed. i also went from a 98 v6 to an 04 GT, so looking back i think it's slower than it really was. but i think it only had like 150 horses anyway, which isn't very much at all, considering it weighs like 3000lbs or something. you can try and race him, but i wouldn't do it for money.
im sorta upset all my freinds race and my stratus was slow and i got this thinkin i could keep up what are some mods other then cai cuz thats on the way that will get me to get up and go
gears. even in my GT, just going from the stock gears to 3.73s gave me a VERY noticable increase. every other bolton will just give you a handful of HP here and there. gears won't give you any, but dayum can you feel the difference.
heh.. best thing is to find a local shop that does work on stangs. gears can be pretty expensive to get installed. mine cost me $500 for the gears + install, then it was another $100 to get my speedometer calibrated. you don't HAVE to calibrate your speedo, but your mph will be off. it'd just be annoying. call a shop and ask if they have 3.73s for a 98 mustang v6 and ask how much everything would be for the gears and install.
