i get around pretty good in snow with the mustang. you just drive like a girl.

 

Most SUV's, trucks, and vans have more power cuz their made to carry like 9 people. Thats the way i figured it[&:]

 

They have a new AWD taurus with 260hp. You could use the engine/tranny out of that. they don't make em in manual though. Also to the guy who said Taurus have 160 hp. After 1996 the LX models have over 200 hp every year. Not to mention the SHO Taurus

 

The Ford Taurus SHO was a fast car at its time. I wasn't much of a fan of the Taurus. I had a 1997 gl and even though it was a reliable I didn't really like how the interior was designed like the radio cover was a big egg... it was nasty looking. The SHO however I would have took in a heart beat hehe

 

I knew a guy that was addicted to his SHO, and that damn thing was quick. He had a 5-speed and drove like a bat outta hell all the time. When it got wrecked, he immediately went out and bought another one. When I was in high school I actually liked driving my mom's '90 Taurus wagon because it seemed like a rocket compared to my '89 extended cab Ranger with a 2.3L. My wife's late car, a '95 3.8L Taurus, was pretty peppy for a car that old with 138k on it, but I regularly drove my dad's '96 3.8L Mustang and it was definitely a bit faster, though not by much.

 

I guess it just comes down to what you want to tell people you drive, a taurus or a mustang..

 

With a 5psd and a T-lok its not that easy.(Esp with a 5.0) Its kinda of like ice skating.

 

Anyways, I think the new Taurus looks good, inside and out.
OP: Remember the 3.5 has twice as many valves than 3.8 or 4.0 Mustangs, so peak HP should be higher.

 

are you serious? i have never felt more safe driving in snow with a 5spd. automatics blow in the snow.
