10" vs 10.5"
Well, I'm planning ahead already, haha, haven't even finished with one mod and I'm already planning the next but anyways... next mod is gonna be rims because I'm going to need new tires soon anyways, so why spend the money twice on tires, eh? So... I'd like to get Black FR500's, but I wanted to get the 18x10.5's on the back so I could fit on 315's but could only find those on eBay.
So I was just wondering what everyone's opinion is on the 10 or 10.5" width in regards to price and such. I know the 315's are going to be more expensive, but just want to know what everyone else thinks about this! Thanks!

What are your goals? If you dont have the power to spin the 10s at the track then dont spend the money for the 10.5s. But if you just want the look then it is a matter of taste and how deep your wallet is. If you race, keep in mind a larger rear tire will put more strain on your driveline when you launch (due to less tire spin). Like the rear valance by the way, but you gotta get duals to fill it out!
Most aftermarket deep dish combo's are 17x9 front and 17x10.5 rear. 18's are 18x9 and 18x10 rear, but you dont want 10.5 or 10on the front. If you got 17x9 put on 245/45's on the fornt, and for the back 17x10.5 put on some 275/40's. That would look good. The added mass of 315's will proabably slow you down, 315'sare a whole lot of rubber esp if you dont need it.
Check out american muscle. com or 50resto.com for wheels chioes they should have 17x9, 17x10.5, 18x9, and 18x10. In 4 different colors too.

unless you are putting down some serious power all the 10's or 10.5's are going to do is slow you down. They will slow you down getting up to speed, and then make it harder to brake. If you just want the look and don't mind your car feeling a bit like a dog, and not stopping as easily then get the 10.5s. Don't put them on the front though, just hte back.
Yeah I was gonna do 18x9's in front and 18x10.5 in the back if I could, I kinda liked the look, but I suppose a half inch won't make a huge difference. I'll see when it actually comes down to buying these, but I'll probably just end up going 18x10 since that's what American Muscle has.
IF, and i say IF you are going to get deep dish, get 10.5
However,
Unless your car is pushing some serious horsies, deep dishes wont do do you much good but slow you down like laserred02 said. Its more weight and takes more power to turn.

18x9 and 18x10 are a good combo. You won't be making enough power to need the extra 1/2". Anything wider than a 295 is a waste on our cars. I can hook all day on my 295/35 BFG drags.
Run 265/35 in the fronts, and 295/35 in the rear.

I know I'm not going with the 10.5's for performance reasons, I'm just doing it for visual reasons, but like I said, I suppose the half inch won't make a difference. And I won't be getting rid of these for a while, like I said I'm just looking into it for when I eventually do get the rims, but if you're still interested when I get them I'll let you know.
