^^^^^^^ You cant make your mom buy you new rims, especially if money is tight!
Money is tight with me, so i would know. If a parent can't afford $400, for atwo more wheels, they should be homeless. He drives a nice car so i think any family can swing the equilivant oftwo weeks of groceries or a monthly cell phone bill to get their son new wheels that they wrecked.
Kid, when money is tight that that means there is no money to be speant on things that arent a necessity. $400 is a lot of money. And saying that someone who can't afford $400 at a given time should be homeless is immature.

Obviously he sounds like he personally worked hard for his car and for his wheels.

I would have never been able to ask my parents for money if it was tight. Its only a car and they are you parents - they raised and took care of you.
Well i worked at 14 to 17 and i am still working(grocery stores, backyard store etc,)and bought and paid for my car, insurance, and cell phone bills, so don't try to give me a lesson. I'm guessing your a "kid" because like $400 is nothing. I bet thats 1/5 of the price of the computer he's typing on. If his parents can afford a computer they can afford two wheels, thatTHEY damaged.

BTW, looks like he has a more expensive car than me.(mine has 85,000miles too so i got it cheap)
Damn you are so ignorant. Findone person who doesn't think $400 is a lot of money.

^^^^^^^^I make that in two weeks part time. Granted, if anyone wants to give me $400 dollars i would take that offer in a milisecond and it would be one of the best days ever, but how does it make me ignorant if i'm being realistic?

to some people $400 is a lot of money and some families just cant throw mony on something so materialistic.

How hard is that to understand?

Yeah, i cooled down. I guess it isn't really a big deal compared to all the **** i've ****ed up for my parents in my past. lol. She felt bad today and came into my room and told me she would pay for whatever it takes to fix them or replace them. I told her she didn't have to, we'll see if she comes through.

I would photograph right now, but it's dark. I'll try to get pics up tomorrow. :]

really tuff for me to say something when it comes to talkin about family. but I think most of the replies here suggest going softly when it comes to parents, sounds like a good approach. I, as a cheap parent, can appreciate that, but I would try to reconcile if I messed my son's property.

Gently see if she'll fess-up to what she's done. Honesty and appreciation for one's feeling will make the "atmosphere" better, even if you still end-up paying for it.

You guys don't need hard feelings hangin around.

yeah uhh john i dont care if youve worked since your 14, your still 17 right now. im not trying to start ****, but you have no idea what bills and REAL financial responsibilities are. i admit that idont either...you will never know what that is until you have kids. until that time you are supporting yourself and only yourself. no real obligation to pay bills other than fun stuff for you. you have no idea what sort of financial situation his parents are in. not everyone is a millionare. just cuz he has a mustang doesnt mean his parents are loaded. for all you know his dad could be out of a job right now, none of us know. if he says money is tight then dont tell him that he should walk up to his parents and demand money from them like some spoiled brat.

and if they are paying for his car, the food in his stomach, the clothes on his back, the roof over his head, and whatever else to demand money from them to fix some wheels on a car thats just horrible. i know my parents would have offered to pay for it (and i would let them...they arent rich by any means) but i would never have asked much less DEMANDED as you were suggesting.

Wow you know nothing so please stop responding.(about me) You make yourself sound stupid. If i gave my parents $400 every month that would hardly help. Like you said their alot of bills and financial payments(clothes, food, etc.) I can't believe you say i'm a spoiled brat. You couldn't last 1 day in my shoes. Please do not assume. Once again if you think $400 is alot, You should work at grocery store your entire life. From your perspective you will be loaded. Yeah you'd be racking in like $16,000 a year. You can definately support a family with that.(NOT)You probably coundn't support yourself. OH, and look his parents are replacing the wheels(the ultra expensive $400 wheels) who woulda thunk it? sarcasm....
