if you start at the one and shift to the 2 then to drive does that **** your transmission up?

no, you can do it but itwont do anything for you. some people swear bye doing the d2d shift...start in drive then shift to 2nd right before the car shifts then back into drive when you want to..but i dont think it does anything really.

when i put it in 1 it has way better acceleration then also in 2 to drive so i dont know, i was just wondering if it would hurt anything.

well you mean throttle replonce in 1 or 2 thats because it locked in 1st or 2nd and the computer cant/doesnt shift it up to save gas and then have to shift back backdown a gear whenyou mash on it

yeah, but im just glad it doesnt make my transmission get messed up because some dude told me it would but thats why i asked here.

if you do it a lot it will cause premature wear on your transmission, but no more than if you just leave it in D and drive the crap out of it. bottom line is if you beat the car up don't be surprised when things fail.

i would just leave it in drive, if you wanna shift gears then do it right and buy a manual. the only real reason they have those is for towing (uphill) and if you get stuck in mud...neither of which a mustang is gonna be doing.

It doesnt give you any better acceleration to manual shift it as it does to let it shift itself. It only changes the shift point.
