okay, i have a 96 mustang . and i had the check engine light check and it said auxillairy emmsion control malfuction. what excatly could that be the guys at autozone had no idea. and i even tried advance auto parta down the road and they said it might be the cataltic converter. anyone have expeince this before or knows wat it is.

i had it erased cuase the guy said it might be a spike . now it comes on sometimes then goes off.

not that i know of. the person i bought it from said that it was stock and all he did to it was a sound system. but he took that out. its been a little so i dont rember the code number. but that is wat it said it was. which was auxialliy emission control malfuction.

It could be your fuel system. Go to Autozone and get the code read again and relay it here to get some good feedback. I had the same problem. Turns out my A/C low pressure switch and my fuel purge valve connectors where installed backwards. But my A/C wouldn't work for that time either. Really we need the code to narrow it down.

omg, thats is so weird my ac wont work either(and in flordia that anit fun). at frist it would click on and off now it wont come on at all.

okay ill try to do that soon and ill post it up here.

I had a similar problem with my 96 after i bought it. Turned out my fuel purge solenoid switch and my AC low pressure switch connectors were crossed. Check your low pressure switch wire color. It should have two wires and one is purple. The other connector about 4" away located on a vacume line should have 3 wires. One of those should be purple with a white stripe. Its easy to put these on crossed and will only take a few seconds to check.
