Need some ideas on how to improve overall performance on my v6 3.8 ...... was thinkin of doin exhaust and cold air intake first...any idea where i should start?

 

the cai makes yer engine breath better but dosen't do anything for perfomance...
the exhause will give you a nice sound and a bit pf hp...

but if you want to see yer stang really take off try changing yer gear and put in a t-loc...

just my opinon...

Yea, look at the sticky at the top of the page that I had started, then after you browse through that go to the tech sticky and look at the commom modifications parts thread.

 

An exhaust upgrade can add HP and TQ if you do it right. If you get carried away going to larger diameter pipes, free flow mufflers and no cats you will actually lose power. Another good upgrade is the suspension. Boxed control arms, a rear sway bar and lowering springs can make it corner and handle very well. Also a slightly lower gear and t-lock are some you will definitely feel.
