Default Differential Fluid Change

So I just finished changing the differential fluid and I mus say that the location and angle of the fill plug is completely retarded!
To my understanding, the diff case takes about 1.75qt to be properly filled; however, I was unable to get more than abour 1.3qt in there?!
Have you had this problem before? and how bad is it if I drive with less than 1.75st in there?

It is retarded, but I used a hand pump to get it in there...a lot easier.

How much were you able to get in there before it started overflowing?

all of it...the recomended fill level doesnt even fill up the entire diff...Im sure you can find something at a hardware store to put the rest of the fluid in that is cheap. What i used looked like a giant syringe with a hose instead of a needle.

So did you notice any difference after the fluid change?

Do you notice anything after an oil change? Diff fluid change is preventative maintenence. It doesn't really do anything for performance.

I had exactly the same problem. I actually think I got a full quart in there, and then another third of a quart before it overflowed - so just about ~1.3 quarts, too. I tried a few days later, and I still couldn't get anymore in there. I drove it around for about 3 months, and then when I did my transmission swap, I tried adding more and it still wouldn't hold anymore. I've left it alone since then, and I haven't had any problems.
