Default stalling out

my car has stalled on me twice in the middle of driving. my dad doesnt believe me he keeps telling me its because i dont know how to drive but it wasnt when i was shifting it is just when i was driving once i was going about 35 and the other about 45. the car just rolls and the only reason i knew(stereo up too loud) is because the steering wheel locks. anyone have an idea of what could be happening

If you depress the clutch and downshift and let the clutch out does it restart on it's own?

Does it happen when you hit the brakes, because when I go to the track and take out my airbox it trys to stall when I hit the brakes because our car have vacuum assist brakes. I'd suggest checking all your vacuum lines and your intake.

???????????

If your car dies and it's rolling, and you leave the key in the on position you should be able to pop the clutch and it start right up, that's how you push start a manual when the battery dies. Any manual tranny should do that.

Unless you're misunderstanding what I'm saying, I think your dad is right.

I'm just trying to narrow down the issue. Any lights on the dash? Checked all your tune-up stuff lately?
