Default gt rear axle

Instead of installing new gears and t lock, i was thinking about installing a gt rear axle on my v6. Do you think its a good idea, or should i just buy the gears and t lock?

Im not to sure about the GT's but the '03-'04 Mach 1's came stock with 3.55's. Not a bad ratio, it's what I'm looking for for my '98.

I have an 8.8, much easier to do other stuff with too, it bolts right up, no issues at all. Just get one from whatever your generation is.
