Default power window problem

i have a 04 vert, windows stopped working yesterday, thank god they are up. i installed lambo hinges last year, having to extend every wire on both door. yesterday i was driving and tried to put my windows down and nothing work, switches on both sides, i hear a clicking from the fuse box, i guess that's the relay. when i open my door and hit a switch, my interior lights goes off until i let go of the button and i hear the ding sound that sounds when i first start my car up? so could anybody help me out? thank you

Either a fuse or you over stretched the wiring. Check your fuses for continuity then check out your wiring. If there is a break try splicing in some extensions and make sure their routing won't interfere with your doors operation. Often several things are tied together or to one circuit.

is there another fuse, i found one under the dash and it's metal so im guessing that's a fuse and a relay? i didn't bother looking under the hood for a fuse, and with the wires, i look it over and played with the harness to no avail, im gonna take some time tomorrow and look it over

Can't say for sure on your model but I have one fuse under the hood which allows power to the fuse panel under the steering collumn which in turn provides protection for all your power stuff inside. If that was blown nothing would work. It sounds more like you've got some wiring thats chafing together and mixing signals. Get a good wiring diagram and start checking individual wires. Start with the syptematic wires... Good luck.

Have just bought a 2001 Mustang v6 for my grandson. Power window would not go up after he owned it for 2 months. The section on removing the door panel is great information although I found when taking the switch panel off the informationwas ok except you must pop the rear of the switch panel streight out using a flat head screw driver. Any way after removing the switch and wiggling the wires the window would go up and continued to work propertlyso I put the switch panel back on and now I am happy.
