I'm gonnado sway bars, springs, and shocks, front strut tower brace, subframe bracing, and maybe control arms if they're any good.
What order should I do that in guys? I'm definitely doing exhaust for my birthday, so suspension is next. I just want my car to sound better, it sounds wimpy right now.

I'm planning on making this into an autox car. Detroits are like 400 bucks aren't they? So that, plus 160 for gears and install kit, plus 300ish for th einstall, thats lookin at 700ish. I really don't want to spend 700 bucks on my rear end, when 700 bucks would make it handle superb, with front and rear sways, and springs and shocks/struts.
I think I'd benefit more at the moment from suspension than gears.

SO now I guess the question is used wheels and some decent tires, or suspension. My tires are pretty bad. They're Walmart goodyear touring tires, and they're 205's, which is way too damn narrow for the power even the V6's make.

I suppose I'll wait until summer for the rear end, so now its either wheels, or suspension, but I think I may go suspension, because the stock wheels aren't ugly, and 18's just don't look right on a nonlowered car.
First, a good diff is generally part of a good Auto-X car, so it's not like you're throwing money away on going with a better diff... especially one that will last for along time like the TruTrac.

Oh, and yeah, better tires will be a big improvement, as well.

I think I'm gonna go suspension, but I was looking around, and I've heard a few people mention conrol arms. Are they worth it? I mean,I'm gonnado sway bars, springs, and shocks, front strut tower brace, subframe bracing, and maybe control arms if they're any good. I'd rather have a well handling car, as compared to gaining like 30hp from the same amount of money.
Upper Control arms are worthless... in fact, they only magnify the snap oversteer problem inherent w/ Mustang suspension. Lowers can be an improvement, but not one I'd put at the top of the list for handling mods.

Personally, I'd say Subframes (Maximum Motorsports XL), Springs/Shocks (high spring rate w/ matching Bilsteins, Konis, or Tokicos), Sway bars (stock GT rear would do OK w/ your stock front).

Strut tower brace related improvments are debatable and the control arms can surely wait.

I was thinking of Ford Racing C springs, and some tokico HP shocks/struts. Sounds like a decent setup?

Will I need C&C plates with C springs, or will I be fine after an alignment?

I'll probably do that and exhaust, and that will be a good start.

I think the HP's should be OK for the C-springs (~650lb/in), but you may want to check to be sure.

C/C plates *probably* won't be *required* w/ just C-springs, but it's always a good idea. They'll help with adjustability and they'll help to hold the alignment better than stock.

if autoX is your passion absoutely forget the ford T-lok as you will be rebuilding it alot even using reverse stacked extra clutches and an F-150 spring.

Detroit truetrac all the way. no spyders to worry about, no clutches to ever wear out, no friction modifier needed becdause no clutches are there.

expensive? yes but alot less than rebuilding the t-lok 2 times

well, my dream of autocrossing is toast for a while. My parents are saying that mineral wells is too far me to drive (its barely 80 miles, and its a straight highway shot), and that autocrossing is destructive to my car.

WELL WHOOPDIE****INDOO. I suppose I could be one of those 17 year olds who sneaks out, smokes pot, gets hammered on saturday nights, etc. Hell, I figured that if I did what they said, that they'd let me go to parties and stuff because they'd trust me, but nooooo, I'm 16 (a month from 17), and I'm not mature enough to drive to the other side of the metroplex, or go bowling with my friends past 11pm on saturday night. Woulda thought they'd trust me more since I've never gotten into any trouble. I'm halfway through my junior year, and I've never been a party because they won't let me. They keep telling me that high school is the best time of your life, well, its not, especially when they wont let me do anything. I've heard them tell stories to their friends about getting drunk when they were 15. great role models they are.

I'm just gonna leave it bone stock, and sell it, because its not worth modding right now if I'm not gonna be able to do anythig with it. The only thing a badass suspension is gonna do for me is get me into trouble if I don't have anything productive to do with it. god, I can't wait for college.

i was told that until next october when the car is completely paid off i cant do anything, eventually i talked my dad into letting me do exhaust cause its got the leak, the 4.10/detroit tune, andtwo 2 1/2 lb bottles where the spare tire goes he will never noticeproviding he doesnt find them in my truck before i get to install it[8D]

Yeah, basically what I was saying... but more detail.

Our point is that it's a larger initial cost, but it pays for itself eventually, AND it's a better diff.

Another popular diff w/ the Mustang Auto-X'ers and Open Trackers is the Torsen T2R (or T2)

too bad the T2R is only for the 8.8 and factory on all 03/04 cobra's

AAM makes a torsion diff for the 7.5 i believe
