More Traction Possible?
I'm new to mustangs, i've owned one since September this year and have drove a toyota avalon for around 1-2 years. I live in Washington and it rains alot around here and it seems that my mustang likes to spin out in the rain all the time. I was wondering if there was anything i could do to get more traction in rain. I own a 04 v6 auto and everything is still relatively new, it has 35k miles on it right now. The tires don't look to worn out but they are the factory tires with factory rims so i was wondering if new high quality tires would help at all?
My friend that rebuilds ford motors(he owns a 5.7 v8ford truck)told me that mustangs just have a tendency to do that in the rain. Although tires would help, would i see that much of an improvement? Is it true that mustangs don't do so great in the rain as daily drivers? I really like my car and don't want to sell it but i want to make it so i won't spin out just turning a corner in the rain.
SLOW DOWN. my mustang is my first car; the first month i drove in the rain i fortunately saved myself from spinning out and crashinga few times. just slow down. learn you car's limitations.
A good set of tires would help depending on the tires you already have. Slowing down and weighting the car could also be beneficial. I have an older model 96 and I have never had trouble with spinning out but it could be the driver...

Learn to drive. I have no problems what-so-ever in the rain, and I have more power and torque at the wheels than you do. My tires are wider, too, which are worse for rain and snow. They also suck for traction period.
Basically what everyone else has said;
1. Add weigh in the rear.
2. Get some better tires.
3. Get a limited slip.
That's the order I would try it in.
I know what you mean though.I'm sure you're not punching the gas all the time. It happens to me to. You could leave your car in second gear from a stop. That would definitely take care of the problem.
