Custom Exhaust
Ok so I think im ready to take the plunge and get a dual exhaust. My thoughts are...flowmaster 40 mufflers and custom h pipe and rolled chrome tips.
If I were to just take the tips and mufflers in, how much should I expect to pay to get the rest fabricated? And should I go 2.25 or 2.5?
Thanks so much

If you have big plans for the car later like supercharger, turbo or nitrous go with 2.5 otherwise stick with 2 1/4 . H pipe will cost you about 150-170 and other welding would be around 50 bucks so about 220-250 all together.
it will probably cost you a good amount of money since they have to make the pipes that bend around the axle. its hard to say since shops are different all over the country. call a few local places and ask them about how much your lookin at. its the only way to really know.
I paid $800 for my exhuast. But i had a lot of work done, welded the exhuast manifold together, had subframe connectors installed, that was $300 right there, so techniqually i paid $500 for the side exit, flows, h-pipe and tips. My h-pipe sounds gorgeous, i dont know how divorced would sound tho. i'd say get 2.5 or even 3 in. 2 1/4 would look too stock and baby looking.
well i would stick with 2.25....i have that and love the sound/power ratio
ahh i have payed 525 for my exhaust and that includes labor and materials
my setup is custom o/r h-pipe
flowmaster 40's
mandrel bent tail pipes
3" chrome tips
btw i love the way it sounds and it is a completely custom setup for
i used to have divorced with cats and liked it but a catless h is the way to go

I just had my exhaust done today and it is true dual with a custom H-pipe and two Goerlich Xcelerator mufflers running 2.25in. pipe all the way. It cost me $557 total and he only charged me 45 bucks to weld in the H-pipe. I had to keep the cats due to emissions regulations, but it is one of the throatiest setups I have heard on a v6 w/ cats. He talked me out of the Flowmaster Super 44's I wanted to put on it because he said it was a little raspy at high rpm. I am 100% satisfied with the Xcelerators though.
