Default i decided on a turbo.

well i have decided on a turbo setup on my car. I will custom make the whole system myself, it will be hidden for the most part. i will have a diagram up soon of what im planning. my question is what size turbo would be the best.

Well for inlet diameter I have no idea, but one that makes around9 psi would be best unless you're upgrading your internals, 11 psi maximum on an otherwise totally stock car.

grab a garret T3 or a Warner Ishi off of a 2.3L turbo, thunderbird, mustang svo or merkur xr4ti. they already push 15-18 psi depending on the setup stock, and you can put a softer wastegate actulator on it to run at a lower boost.

Garret PT61 is a great choice fora single set up on the 3.8L.

T3 and the T3/4 hybrids are too small unless you are going to run a twin set up.

If you go twin, the T3/4 hybrid match it your best bet for a stock to mildly modded motor.

I wouldnt paint it black. It would look better but wouldnt the black color b more prone to absorb heat then a lighter color?
