I picked up a good looking mustang with 2300 for $150 . I was going to put a 460 in it but the car ran well so I was going to drive it until the 2300 dies . Well it's bin 2 years and it is still going this is a strong engin wont die. so I noticed this fourm and what kind of power can this pump make with cam intake carb (would like a 4 BBL holley) and home ground heads.Dont care abouy Idle or milage

OK what are some of you guys running with the 2300 like quater mile times , dyno resluts , can you beat a stock 5.0 mustang . Fill me in . I hit that link hot rods_N_ booze sent it was cool but olny 2BL carb intakes OK the car is olny 2200 LBS if F-1 can get 1000 HP out of this motor think I could get 350 HP with no power adders ( I dont like them I'm a all motor kind of guy ) I realy would like something diffrent than a nother big block fox I will keep you guys up to date on the build , but befor I start the leg work just give me some of you real world expearnce
I remeber reading in hot rod like 5 years ago this guy was running 10 in the 1/4 mile ., but he was spraying the s**t out of his 2300 in a PINTO then not to long ago ford gave him a focus to run with the pro ricers . Does aney one know who I am talking about I think the cover of hot rod in that issue had him sitting on the hood of his pinto holding up 4 fingers ahhh well aney way can you guys hook me up

I got a 390 truck block not shure of the boar size . to put 410 pistons in is that poasble . the FE don't like to be board out right

Not to crazy about alum. heads is thar a cast counter part for the FE
the cam would that hafto be a solid roller . I remeber hearing somthing about the lifter gallery oil not being able to handle big lift hydrolic cams . is that true

Is it true that the side oiller package can be bolted on to this motor
I realy dont like power adders I think its like putting a tube sock in your levi's but I think I could tune this big block in to the 11's
will that submarine hatch of a bell housing fit in trans tunnle of the fox or will I be looking at it fron the drivers seat
and this is a real fat motor I remeber to get the cast intake off I hab to use the engin hoist will it fit under the hood

the 410 merc is nothing more than a 360/390 with a complete 428 rotating assembly and 4.05" pistons
stock 390 heads are fine.
the FE can support very large hydraulic cams
side oiling offers no real benefit to the FE block
the C6 is big abd the trans tunnel may have to be modded to fit but the engine itself is a better fit than the 429 block but tighter than a windsor. it will fit under the hood and make a unique setup
hell just a built 360 or 390 would be nice
the holley would be fine too
the FE is something to think about. i like the idea and have been toying with such a setup for awhile but time and money get in the way
dud it wont fit . Pulled stang puppy up beside the truck and the valve covers will hit the shock towers . The budgit wont alow for mods that heavy, and my skill ant up to moveing them either .
